Many ways to contribute
The 99 Unite Civic Forum is an unincorporated association. However, we are supported by the Friends of Occupy Portland, Inc. (FOOP), which provides us with meeting and event spaces. Therefore, at the moment, the best way to support the 99 Unite Civic Forum is to contribute financially to FOOP. FOOP's financial well-being is directly conducive towards the development of the 99 Unite Civic Forum.
As a 501(c)(4) non-profit and state-registered charity (Oregon #45976) FOOP is not permitted to engage in direct political activities (with several exceptions as allowed by law). Almost all of FOOP's activities are information-and-referral and community education (i.e., informational booths at local festivals and community events) only. Therefore, you can be assured that your contribution will not go to any causes you may feel objectionable.
In addition to financial contribution, we are also in search for event-related in-kind contributions, as well as interesting guest speakers or panelists who can engage the audience and make them think.
To make a contribution to FOOP's general fund, visit the FOOP development website at http://foopdevelopment.blogspot.com. A copy of the 2013 FOOP annual report is also available at the said website.
